Can Africa practice democracy without the existence of political parties?

  • 3

Most Africa countries’ development has been impeded by self-interest governments prioritizing political party agendas instead of the national agenda. Election winning has become more important than national development.

Can Africa do away with political parties and still practice democracy by empowering its citizens?

It is a reality in most African countries that development is focused on selfish political party agendas at the expense of the the of citizen’s well-being.

Things got messed up when European colonial power, like the barbaric people they were, blindly drew National Boundaries without considering ethnic and tribal composition.

Traditional African societies had already placed their greater loyalty to ethnic groups so the national agenda has always been a hoax.

Since the government officials at the top, starting with the African Presidents don’t care about people, in turn people don’t care about the government or a national agenda.

Citizens will always put their tribal interests first until we fix the structures of Government. That’s why we have tribal and ethnic clashes today.
