I thought about this, and knowing that society [wrongfully so] creates thresholds of what is ‘beautiful’, came to the conclusion that what people perceive as beauty can be used as grounds for discrimination.

Once, local bank here in Kenya only hired women of a particular physical profile, i.e. slender, light-skinned and made it a requirement for them to dress in a particular way. In such a case a qualified woman would not have got the job if she did not meet the physical requirements.
