I’ve been trying to get ways of overcoming grief after loosing my grandpa in January of this year . Im looking for ways of forgetting about the death and trying to move on.
Have you ever lost someone you loved dearly? If yes..how do you handle and overcome the grief?

i have lost a few people but i would not consider them that close to me.so i think i am yet to fully experience that type of grief.

i lost one of my closest cousins to a road accident. it was the worst thing that could happen considering the effort he was putting to better his life and career. i did not go for his burial and neither have i visited his family since. the other problem is since then i get paranoid whenever i hear anyone is travelling. i have not overcome the sudden death but i believe with time i will recover

I lost both my parents at a tender age. Years apart but still young. Worse part was, they succumbed to HIV related diseases. In the early 2000s, HIV was like a curse. Hustling and trying to make it through the day with food and clothing was the easy part. The stigma that came with being kids whose dad just died of AIDS!? That was hard, it was so hard, it numbed the pain of losing the dear ones and got replaced with crafting survival tactics against the bullies. I’m not sure I have allowed myself to process the emotional side of it. I have kept myself busy doing stuff though .
Knowing that it is okay to mourn which is hard especially as a man in public. I usually deal with it later alone.

Music and the thought that they would want me to continue with life and enjoy it before my time is out. 🙁
