I’d like to get more Intel on how I can be able to start a free mental health program for the public without the help of the government since they seem to not be interested in mental health issues at all. The percentage of people with mental health issues in Kenya is on the rise with each passing day. I’d love to start one with psychologists that are paid a certain amount by the funds made available through crowdfunding. Suggestions on how I can achieve this are welcome.
Is it possible to crowd fund a mental health support group in Nairobi that can be easily accessible by the public for free without the help of the government? If yes any suggestions on how we can achieve this?

There’s a lot of funding right now for mental health, fgm and girlchild education. Just do a sensible proposal and get funds to set it up.
Hello Chris, could we please get links to the crowd funding sites. I Could not get most of them by just googling the names shared above.
Who are some of the potential donors Stewin. Sharing a list of some of them it will help one get to know whom they need to pitch their ideas to.

Hey Alvin, this would really be a great move. Fatuma’s Voice is working on a database of pro bono mental health experts which will make them more accessible. The idea of crowdfunding can work through the following Fundraising Websites for Individuals & Nonprofits:

Hey Winnie, I have just updated my previous answer with the links and included a powerpoint attachment with more details about crowdfunding basics and comparison of the different platforms. This would also be good for you Alvin.
