Social media has become a part of many Africans’ lives due to globalization. As Africans, we have been social for years in our community settlement areas and family set ups (both polygamous and monogamous). So, do you think our embracing social media as Africans, has made us more social than we were or more antisocial than we ever were?

this is too general. i think it is more about individuals and not a continent

Africa as a continent has changed not just because of technology but civilisation as well. Gone ate the days when we would gather around a fire for story time as a family thanks to everyone being scattered all I’ve the country or world chasing careers and education. Even those who are in the same cities may not get a chance to meet up everyday as each may have family responsibilities or an evening class or live on the opposite side of the town and traffic doesn’t grant the pleasure of meeting as many times as we may wish. Our options are now reduced to phone calls, texts and socials. Note: Some people are generally asocial/introverts. I’m sure this batch would still choose to keep to themselves even without social media influence.
