This week on #FatumasVoice: 14.03.14
All of us have been children at some point of our lives. It’s where everything begun. We were curious people in our childhood. Children are curious. Imagine a world where they could start shaping their lives by reading books from as early as they can figure out a, b, c, d, and passionately so.
There are many kids in this country who do not have access to basic text books in school. Some have to share, sometimes one book per upto five students. If a text book is hard to have, a storybook is even harder, yet children love stories. They love learning new words and forming images in their minds through what they read. We therefore have an obligation to make sure that every kid in school can read a storybook.
Pitch A Dream Foundation is working to see to it that this becomes a reality. In song, poetry and talk, this Friday on #FatumasVoice, they shall tell us what you and I can do to enrich a child’s mind in Africa, as well as the efforts we need to put in place to ensure that our small brothers and sisters, and even future children, get a good base of information as they begin their little steps towards making a life. Please buy a story book and come with it if you can so as to be part of the solution.
We shall be having kid poets performing, KIU Band, Waithera, Meryl, Kelvin Kaesa and Ben Benn Kimani. This is the one session no one should miss. Lets do it for the kids.
