I have a story to tell about my city. The traffic jams at rush hour might be hectic sometimes but I get to admire fashion on the streets. People get mugged here but we laugh about it.
I see beauty all over. I doubt if there are any sort of matatus like ours anywhere in this world. Sure, the music and graffiti is above the sky. Everything has a sound around; from bird chirps to hurrying footsteps of humans running to oblivion.
I know something about this city. It burns with love, hatred, confusion, beauty, drunkenness, business, and poetry. This is NAIROBI.
This Friday on #FatumasVoice, we compose Nairobi in words, images, tunes and feelings. We tell of our tales; ups and downs, dreams and hopes at PAWA 254 from 4pm. Your entry is Ksh.100/-. #OccupyNairobi
Among the guests are Sitawa Wafula, Kiya Edwards from A24 media and award-winning poet and writer, Dr Mongane Wally Serote from South Africa.
See you on Friday. Spread the word.
