No small or medium business is set to survive only the large corporations will profit from this disaster but the worst hit is poor people. We’ve run out of food and cannot pay our rent! Where are the hospitals, clinics and wellness centers that our politicians were singing during their campaigns?
We are seated at home in quarantine watching as we lose jobs, businesses, income, hope and there’s nothing we can do about it. Our food and supplies (the few of us who had any) are already finished… We will slowly realize that the world is already fucked up and we are the ones being screwed. I hope this happens and people decide to start an uprising.
During the Great Depression of 2008, that created worldwide unemployment, some businesses crushed overnight and have never recovered to date. In spite of all that, there were a few people who benefited. You see, during a depression, money is not burnt… it just leaves the pockets of many and flows into the pockets of a few chosen ones so that they may have enough resources to maintain power.
This time around, for some reason, they could not wait for a natural economic crunch. Something pushed them to manufacture a crisis that will create similar conditions for artificial unemployment.
Honestly, fastest this pandemic can end is in at least 9 months but that is still very optimistic. Even so, who has food stored up for that long? Not even the government! By the look of things, this lockdown will last indefinitely and lives will be lost on and on as food rations runout until people have nothing else to eat but the rich.
People will now get into animal survival mode where their animal instincts will kick in and force them to ignore the curfew. Even police and armies will also be too pressured to keep the lockdown as they are also fearful for their lives. The movies we are enjoying now may even serve as an orientation to the world that awaits us.
Situations are unfolding each hour simultaneously across the world as Coronavirus destroys, families, businesses. This is the moment for introspection… We should all think of the person we voted for: What did they do over the last 5years to ensure our safety? What are they doing now to help the poor now or should we prepare for a hunger game society?
