Mr. Okwemba is a budding intellectual and practitioner of diplomacy focused on enhancing the peace and security agenda through a multi-sectoral approach and research. He is the Managing Director of the Centre for International and Security Affairs where he directs and controls the organization’s operations and giving strategic guidance and direction. The organization has since 2015 established:The Know Your World Initiative – which advances global citizenship education and people to people relations among the young generation; and The Nairobi International Political Forum- a reflection pit-stop of global events/relations from an African perspective, which convenes the Diplomatic Corp, Government, Academics, Researchers and Private Sector. He has partnered with multiple sectors in developing key partnerships that will sustainably and innovatively enhance the diplomatic ecosystem. He says he chose this work to advance international relations systems so as to embody the conviction that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity; are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. In the actualization of this commitment, he has engaged Governments, Inter-Governmental Organizations, UN Agencies, Private sector, NGOs and Academic Institutions. He shares his thoughts in the National Daily Newspapers occasionally. He is a graduate from the University of Nairobi’s -Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, with Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies, having majored in International Security Studies.
