Josephine Otieno is a passionate trained volunteer on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV. She has 4years facilitation experience volunteering with Family Health Options Kenya (FHOK).
The first born in a family of two living in the city. In 2010, her family moved to Siaya county to live up country where she got her drive for Sexual Reproductive Health due to the high rate of teen pregnancy in her village and thus joined FHOK in 2015.
She completed undergraduate degree in B.Ed Arts with IT, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. It was during her campus time that she started volunteering with FHOK and widely facilitated on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) , contraception, Gender Based Violence (GBV), HIV and Teen Pregnancy. Her main focus was providing information on Sexual Reproductive Health to her community, youths and adolescents and currently implementing Journey 4 Life project to Young adolescents. She is also volunteering with VSO Kenya as a task force team and Trainer/facilitator for livelihood in Siaya county.
Her devotion to delivery of Sexual Reproductive Health information and related project implementation earned her the most hard-working and resilient volunteer.
She has recently graduated from Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI ) Regional Leadership Centre East Africa, Cohort 32 where she came out as an effective leader with a better understanding of empathy than she had previously.
She is currently working on her poetic writing mojo in relation to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights to create awareness.
