Even this question alone seems to assume our superiority over the earth. What we need to know is that the earth as here millions of years before our existence and will continue with or without us. Yes, we may destroy most of it before we destroy ourself in the process but it will always rise. The concept of time affects us the most because we only have less than 100 years on average.
