Smallz Lethal, Africa’s Young Emerging Music Artist and Activist Arrested in Kisii.
At about 4:00pm Kenyan Time Today Time , 27-Apri-2020, Smallz Lethal, a young artist whose Rap video commentary “I’m Offended” has gone viral on YouTube, was arrested at his apartment in Kisii by both plain-clothes and uniformed Police and taken into custody for interrogation at Kisii Police Station.
While at Kisii Police Station, Mr. Smallz Lethal was informed that he was under custody for defaming Governor James Ongwae through his Rap video commentary on the corruption in Kisii county.
The security forces demanded that he delete the now viral Rap video from YouTube in exchange for an unspecified amount of money that included the cost of making the video. Mr. Smallz Lethal declined the offer.50 years after independence, we're still silenced from questioning things our freedom fighters foughts for. In the Rap video the artist questions the bad state of roads in Kisii, glaring shortfalls in money allocated for the roads, sports stadium and Daraja Mbili market.
The artist also questions the reallocation of an Arts Center in Kisii town to a church, among other items.
