The parable of the table
A man gets an invite to the Palace to dine with the King. Under normal circumstances he doesn’t deserve a seat on the table let alone be in the room but favour is upon him and this could be the only opportunity he’ll ever have .
Scenario 1: Man arrives at the dinner sits and enjoy the feast with great company. Takes selfies and shares on social media then goes back home to tell the tale.
Scenario 2: Man enjoys dinner. Networks with guests and asks the King if he’s allowed to ask the chef for a doggy bag since he left his family at home without food. He has fun and excitedly goes home with some delicacies and a bunch of stories about his 1 night with the King
Scenario 3: Man arrives for with gift for the King. He sits and observe while nibbling this & that making brief conversations with guests. He looks for an opportunity to serve the King, times himself so he is not last to leave and he “accidentally” forgets his cellphone
Which one are u? Are u satisfied being the only black or the only 1 in ur fam who’se ever been to the Palace? Are u satisfied with u having a whole list of big names on ur contact list without any fruitful followups? & living on the remnants of the 1 night u had with the King?
Or are you going to see this as a once in a lifetime opportunity, go prepared make an impression & make sure it’s not your last hearing from the palace?
How many of us actually think beyond the moment beyond our stomachs? What’s ur motive for wanting what u want? Is it for clout, to “show dem” or u actually have an effin plan/vision? Do u live for something other & greater than yourself? Are u even impactful?meditate on that ?
