Thirst For Life…
Do you remember that one time when you were badly thirsty for something in your life? Was your thirst self-centered or did its satisfaction somehow cater for the betterment of society?
Most of us have big dreams and ambitions. However, are we thirsting for the right things? We make extraordinary plans but fail to formulate an execution strategy. We thirst for a better Kenya, Africa, and World, while perpetrating things that work on the contrary like tribal conflict, racism, and corruption.
Sometimes, putting other people’s needs first and helping others satisfy their thirst for a better life quenches us too. It’s time we stopped the hypocrisy and became real. It’s time we stood up to our words – kusema na kutenda (doing what we say), because actions speak louder than words.
Speaking of thirst, we have a special guest who was a Commercial Sex Worker but managed to break out of that bondage and is now mentoring youth all over Kenya!
She will join us with her Husband to answer your questions, share the challenges that got her into Prostitution and the experiences that got her out of the Red Light District.
What percentage of our desires, fall in line with creating a better world?
Can we claim to be thirsty for something if we don’t work hard to quench it?
What are you thirsty for today? What are you doing about it? This is what we shall be engaging about this Saturday on #FatumasVoice. Come prepared to speak up. Change begins today, with you.
We shall also be hosting KIU Band, the all girl music group who shall be officially launching their video during the session. ‘Kiu’ is the Swahili translation of ‘thirst’. They shall be wooing us with their music alongside a number of great poets lined up for the evening who shall take us to journeys with words.
