Here is her account of the Purpose of Life session at Fatuma’s Voice Mombasa last week:
The Day was Thursday June 2nd. The Platform was Fatuma’s Voice. The Venue was Little Theatre Club Mombasa and i was a Nervous Wreck!
But through the Moderation Process with my Partner Nuru Bahati (who was by the way Awesome) i managed to not only stay calm but also learn a lot which lead me to dig deeper into my own understanding and in a way reflect more.
Lets get into it:
My Purpose in Life is to Make the World a Better place for myself & for the Future Generation.
You see Ones purpose is Sacred, its Personal and it’s Unique. And as much as i wish there were guidelines to enable us to discover our purpose, we just ought to understand ourselves first before working towards knowing our purpose.
‘ Sijui umekaaje, upo upo tu!’
‘Je, Unalijua lengo lako hapa Duniani? ‘
I am sure most of you have heard or have been told such statements. You see we each have our own time when it comes to self and purpose discovery. Some individuals know their purpose from a get go, while others need to go through a situation to actually realise and point out their purpose.
I personally believe you can’t teach someone their purpose, however you can guide them through the process of discovering it. Unfortunately one of the elements through this guidance is being able to look deep within yourself and finding out the unknown elements that make up who you really are.
For instance during the Fatuma’s Voice Forum, Leila Awale who was the Guest Speaker discovered her calling when she went on her Journey to India After Loosing her Father.
The special aspect about discovering your purpose is that every individual has their own timing and place as to where and how they discover their purpose. So if there is one thing you shouldn’t be worried about it is Not Knowing your purpose.
It may require you take baby steps to get there, but once you can put your finger to it then everything falls into place.
