what misconceptions have you heard about Mental health issues?

  • 7

It is #worldsuicidepreventionday

Everyday we loose friends and relatives to suicide and other mental illnesses, yet a huge percentage of people are oblivious to mental health and it’s importance. It is also appalling that there are alot of miscontrued ideas theories about suicide, depression et all.

Today, take a little time to study about mental health, teach you relatives and friends, be there for people who are depressed and suicidal. People deserve to live. Depression is real, anxiety is real. Check on someone!

Suicide only affects individuals with a mental health condition and that people who die by suicide are selfish and take the easy way out. World Suicide Prevention Day is an awareness day observed on 10 September every year, in order to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides, with various activities around the world since 2003. Hope we can create more awareness.

Suicide is still a taboo topic in many cultures. people even fear talking about it even after it happens. We truly need to share this and check on our friends and loved ones when they can still be checked on.
