There’s no universal definition. Every relationship has its own rules, so cheating would be going against what you agreed with your lover or partner.

Flirting is the worst kind of cheating because it undermines the other person and shows disrespect. Relationships are about exclusivity and once that is compromised the rest is a downhill fall.

Flirting is definitely cheating! No question about that. I mean, would you flirt with a married man who has children and not feel like you are doing anything wrong? Better still, would you be okay with your partner flirting with other people as long as they don’t do anything?

I don’t think flirting is cheating. You can flirt as long as you are not weak to go ahead and open a channel of communication with the person.
If anything emotional cheating is worse because it’s deeper, physical there are people who can do it like one night stands, side chic etc and you won’t even know.
With emotional cheating you are left with a shell of a person, because essentially they are deeply connected to someone else…
