Who’s still the most Relevant artist you know right now?

  • 2

Most of us are Music lovers and music mostly keeps us going. Music is one of the most amazing art and not every artist brings out the art well. Some come and go while others remain relevant forever. With the current generation, there are many artists and alot of content. Who’s still your favorite and why?

While I dmit this sorely depends in one’s taste, I think we can all agree there are perennially underrated musicians who deserve praise for their content and consistency. One artist that I feel is severely underrated is Trabolee! His music transcends genres and ordinary music spaces, he has been consistent with his content, creative thought process and the final end product. His music evokes deep analysis of the human experience, our interactions, our interventions with history among other deeply underlying themes. I suggest you all check him out.

Nyashinski … This is the one artist you can never get tired listening to. He has been in the game for so long yet he is still so relevant.

I’d want to talk about an artist from within my county, Kenya. The most relevant artist is Nyashinski. He is real and that’s what he brings to the table. He talks about our country as it is, with all the tribal clashes, corrupt leadership skills that are really developing. The way politicians promise without fulfilling and take advantage of the money meant for development. He has a way of passing a real message to his audience and it’s of real nature. He also motivates hustlers to keep doing what they do and that God will come through for them. That makes sense to me and hence him being the most relevant artist in Kenya.
Worldwide, I’d go for Juice Wrld. His music is amazing and he brings a real picture of life to us.
Relationship between people on the world is also in his music and it’s about time we dig deeper into the message he passes across in his songs. He motivates us to maintain a good relationship with people all over, judge less and give people chances to make us either learn from it or live by it. In life we either gain or lose. It depends on the path we choose.
Music affects our way of thinking depending on the artist we choose to listen to.

For me I think it’s Ali Kiba. I’ve been jamming to his music since childhood and I think he has done well when it comes to blending in and competing with people who came up recently.

I have a whole playlist of my favorite music and artists of all time which will still remain our highlife musicians way before Kapuka was born. the likes of kilimambogo brothers, mbiri boys etc Also the benga musicians of our time the likes of Makadem, Ayoub Ogada, Winyo, Kamaru, Ayrosh, Kwame Rigii Ohangla and many others whose music remains fresh like it was made yesterday.

I think we overplayed kapuka and Gengetone shellfire is really not so long. it comes as fast as it goes.

I can totally go as deep as need be with this question.
