Kenya is not poor, we’re simply plagued by 2 things – Corruption & Incompetence.
The recent hunger crisis is testimony to both.
When I was in high school we had a brilliant teacher called Mr. Museve who, in our opinion, was the most intelligent tutor we had. Some of my friends would often say that Kenya (then under former President Moi) would be developed if Mr. Museve was president.
This anecdote can doubly serve as the epitome of irony as well as inspiration – usually those most qualified to be leaders are often not & in their stead we have a culture of patronage, incompetence & wanton self-interest discarding development as a critical agendum & value.
