TEENAGE PARENTS: What can we do to end teenage pregnancy?

  • 9

It is unfortunate that many youth in the society become fathers or mothers so early, even at the age of 12!

Reports have shown that youth and teenagers engage in sexual promiscuity when they are very young. This leads t teenage pregnancy and parents with a newborn who often suffers.

What can we do to make youth understand that for you to have family you should be well established?

    Sex education.
Children believe in such fake stories and myths that it is unbelievable.
A child I was taking care of asked me if she could get pregnant from giving blowjobs – and I later found out she had been really giving them- and believe me I told her she could get an STI then she would really see. And that was a 13 year old.
Even as young as that they still assume that quickies can’t get them pregnant etc…
Children have raw sex most of the time because they touch, get excited and then have intercourse. The real show me yours I’ll show you mine.
Children need education and access to family planning it’s inevitable…
Then issue of adults especially men having intercourse with children. This is rape but pretty much common practice.
Most people have families when they find love. We can’t really wait to be established. I assume I will be established at 40 but then I wont even have any eggs left.
Let us just teach children dangers of early sex and also mind our own behaviour around them. They mimic us and if we are drunk and getting laid all the time and it’s all open to our children, then they will also have fun although it’s a sad life but how can they know that?
Sex Ed, and can parents stop being embarrassed about sex? It’s fun but there are rules.

Finding the root cause to the ever growing pregnancy menace will give us all a better solution towards exponentially reducing teenage pregnancy. All parents and teachers should engage in actively teaching young children about reproduction, and let them act in manner that will be emulated by the minors tgrough observation. Not promiscous or erotic behaviour being portrayed by actors infront of minors and their children.

Introduce sex education and encourage parents to talk to their children more about sex. They also need to do this in a more open and conversational way as opposed to a cautionary and authoritative way.

Set an example. Children learn by observing and everything they do is based on what they see from you or the media.
